DPS General Secretary Aleksandar Bogdanović participated in the Democratic Conference organized by the Party of European Socialists in cooperation with the German SPD in Berlin.

"The conference was an opportunity to confirm the full commitment of European socialists to a united, progressive and solidary Europe in the run-up to the European elections in June, which was confirmed by the adoption of the joint declaration entitled "Together - for our Europe!", it was announced from DPS.

The joint candidate of PES in the European elections, Nikolas Smit, PES president Stevan Loven, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and SPD co-chairs Saskja Esken and Lars Klingbeil spoke about the Declaration, as well as the future program goals of the European Socialists.

During the conference, the General Secretary of DPS had meetings with leaders and representatives of PES member parties from the region and the EU, PES President Stefan Loven, Aljbin Kurti, Prime Minister of the Government of Kosovo and leader of the Self-Determination Movement, Katarina Barlej, Vice President of the European Parliament, co-chairs of SPD- and Lars Klingbeil and Saskia Esken and Magdalena Anderson, the leader of the Swedish Social Democrats.

In short talks, Bogdanović exchanged views on current processes in Montenegro, the region and Europe, and pointed out that DPS is always on the line of policies that promote a democratic, progressive and united Europe to which Montenegro aspires to belong.

"Especially in the context of the current rise of populism and nationalism, he supported the joint candidate of the European socialists, Nikolas Šmit, emphasizing that policies based on the values of peace, economic progress and social justice must be dominant for the benefit of all citizens," the announcement concludes.
