Civic Action: Raonić has shown that he is a party follower and not a public servant

Non-governmental association Civic Action sent an open letter to Boris Raonić.

We are publishing the letter signed by Božidar Vujičić in its entirety:

"The RTCG Public Service, which is financed by citizens' money in the amount of over 20 million euros per year and is managed by Director General Boris Raonić, is hiding from citizens, or rather does not want to inform citizens in a quality manner, that they cannot exercise power in accordance with the Constitution of Montenegro. Director General Boris Raonić is responsible for the operations and legality of the work of the Public Service. Not a single editor of the TVCG Public Service, which is chosen by the Director of Television of Montenegro, appointed by Boris Raonić, has organized a single show on his own initiative with the topic of exercising power by the citizens of Montenegro.

Citizens have not been informed truthfully and in a timely manner that they cannot exercise any constitutional possibility for exercising power. They cannot freely elect representatives in the Parliament of Montenegro, because the MPs are elected by the party president and they cannot exercise power through a referendum, because the Law on Referendum does not contain a procedure for conducting a referendum on the initiative of citizens.

In the process of public discussion on the Draft Program Production Plan of Television of Montenegro for 2024, the editorial board accepted the suggestion of the Civic Action Association, that on the First Program of TV Montenegro, in an informative prime-time show, the fear of the impossibility of exercising citizens' power in accordance with Article 2 of the Constitution of Montenegro be addressed.

There are less than twenty days left until the end of 2024, and Director General Boris Raonić has not fulfilled his legal obligation to implement the adopted program work plan of Television of Montenegro, despite countless insistence by citizens, who submitted an initiative for the implementation of the mentioned topic, that the adopted obligation be implemented.

With the aforementioned behavior, the Director General has shown that he is a party subordinate and not a public servant, by hiding the truth from citizens so that these same citizens can continue to be robbed by the presidents of political parties, who indirectly elect Boris Raonić.

Mr. Raonic, between the legal obligation to inform citizens and the illegal act of hiding the truth from citizens, you have chosen the latter, due to enormous personal interests. If in the remaining twenty days you do not fulfill the legal obligation, which the editorial board has accepted, and do not truthfully inform citizens about the theft of power from citizens by several presidents of political parties, after the end of the calendar year 2024, we will file a report against you for abuse of official duty and a lawsuit with the competent court."
