Civic initiative May 21 - Bjeković to announce what he has undertaken, we also expect the position of the Agency for Electronic Media

The civic initiative "May 21" sent an urgent request to the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro, Siniša Bjeković, regarding the submitted complaints and notifications related to the violation of human rights during the political advertising of two pre-election coalitions, GI "May 21" announced.
"The Institution of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms announced that it did not continuously monitor the content of the election campaign and that therefore all information about contentious content is welcome.
On the basis of that public call, the Citizens' Initiative informed Bjeković on May 21 about the broadcast of the pre-election video of the political coalition and the list Democratic Front - for the Future of Podgorica, in which children participate. The standards unequivocally indicate that the participation of children in programs and contents that have political purposes is prohibited. Children should not be part of political propaganda and party political advertising.
Timely advertising of this institution could contribute to the respect of all human rights, especially the rights of children and members of marginalized and discriminated social groups.
Also, together with the mother of a person with a mental disability, the Citizens' Initiative on May 21 filed a complaint about the content of the pre-election coalition video This is our city - Može Podgorica. The coalition around the Citizens' Movement URA broadcasted a video that is controversial from the point of view of human rights because there is also disparagement and the protection of personal integrity is called into question," the announcement reads.
The citizens' initiative "May 21", as they state, also expects the Council of the Electronic Media Agency to make a statement at tomorrow's session regarding the fact that the media broadcast a video mocking people with disabilities and videos involving children, even though it is against the standards for children to participate in paid political advertising.
