DANU made an announcement regarding the summons for the hearing of academician Sreten Vujović

Dukljan Academy of Sciences and Arts (DANU) announced the invitation to the hearing of DANU academician Sreten Vujović, under the threat of forced arrest.
Vujović received the invitation from the Cetinje Police Administration, after the events in Cetinje on Friday, March 10. DANU also condemned the behavior of impeached Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.
DANU asks the competent authorities to communicate the full truth about the event in Cetinje on March 10, 2023, in order to contribute to the objective truth and preserve the integrity of our member academician Sreten Vujović and our academy. DANU believes that Academician Vujović was one of the participants in the non-violent protest of citizens, who exercised their constitutional and legal right to freedom of opinion, public expression of opinion and freedom of public assembly. Based on publicly available facts, videos and other materials, Academician Vujović and citizens they did not attack the physical integrity or threaten the safety of presidential candidate Jakov Milatović. And Jakov did threaten citizens with his direct and concrete activities from the well-known VAR room - the announcement reads.
DANU requests that the non-competent authorities finally examine the veracity of the claims regarding the responsibility of Jakov Milatović, that is, to determine whether there is a basis for his criminal responsibility, due to his dangerous involvement in the events in Cetinje on September 4 and 5, 2021 by persuading the police to attack the people.
That is, his participation in making the decision to apply illegal repression against citizens who protested against the unworthy enthronement of the Metropolitan of the Church of Serbia, Joaniki II Mićović, in the Cetinje Monastery. Consequently, DANU requests that the responsibility of the then minister Jakov Milatović be investigated, who, according to the available testimonies, then stated "what does it mean that 10 Montenegrins are killed...", which could be incriminated as a death threat. Jakov's statement is referred to Academician Vujović. Jakov's statement and attacks on the people, at his request, were the main motive of the legitimate protest of the citizens in Cetinje, who saw Milatović's visit as a direct provocation and insult, and this, it should be clear, because of his participation in the brutal treatment ( attack) of the police against citizens in Cetinje on September 5, 2021. If a justified basis for Milatović's threats and/or his participation in decision-making in the aforementioned attacks on citizens is shown (known case of VAR rooms!!!!) 5.09. In 2021, the motive and justification of the citizens' protest in Cetinje from two evenings ago will be clear - the statement added.
They point out that, if the competent authorities determine that there is responsibility for Milatović for death threats to a citizen on the eve of September 5, 2021, and in making a decision in the capacity of a minister in the Government that the police then act unfairly towards citizens, they ask the SEC to cancel his candidacy in that case for the president.
Because such a person does not deserve to be a candidate in the elections for the President of Montenegro. After all, what kind of person is he who is running for president of Montenegro, and he said that it doesn't matter to him if 10 Montenegrins were killed, so that the unworthy Joanikije could be forcibly enthroned. DANU is of the opinion that if the competent authorities do not react in a valid way to stop the persecution of intellectuals and other citizens in Montenegro by dangerous politicians, it will turn to the relevant international institutions and organizations and request the protection and respect of the human rights and freedoms of endangered citizens - it is concluded in a statement to DANU.
