DFC: Intensification of anti-Western and anti-NATO campaign, RTCG spread disinformation

The twenty-fifth anniversary of the NATO intervention in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was the reason for the intensification of the comprehensive anti-Western and anti-NATO campaign of the regime in Serbia with the aim of manipulating public opinion in Serbia and the Western Balkan region - the Digital Forensic Center assessed.
In Montenegro, pro-Serbian and pro-Russian media, right-wing organizations, individuals and pro-Serbian political structures, which mostly promoted the narrative created in Belgrade, joined the campaign in Montenegro, as stated on the social network X (X). The key manipulations within that campaign, they add, were related to the name of the operation and the number of victims of the NATO intervention.
In the RTCG diary on March 24, 2024, on the occasion of the anniversary of the NATO intervention, it was announced that the victims of the bombing numbered in the thousands. On the same day, in the People and Events show on RTCG, misinformation was spread that the NATO campaign was called the Merciful Angel, and that more than 1,000 people were killed in airstrikes, and several thousand were wounded - DFC said.
The official name of the NATO air operation is, as they specified, Operation Allied Force.
The author of the Merciful Angel coin is still unknown, but it is assumed that the term was coined in Serbia to facilitate the mobilization of people to fight against NATO - DFC announced.
