Djeloshaj: Milatović directly robbed municipalities of hundreds of thousands of euros, his remarks are fabrications

President Jakov Milatović, with the decision to return the Law on Amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government Financing to the Assembly for reconsideration, directly deprived the municipalities of hundreds of thousands of euros in real estate sales tax, said Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development Nik Djeloshaj.
For the sake of publicity, on January 1, 2024, real estate sales tax is the new responsibility of municipalities for 100% of income. In order for this provision to be functional, the law on the financing of local self-governments needed to be harmonized. In this way, Milatović also, knowingly or not, enabled individuals to make extra profit, since everyone who sells real estate in the period until the re-adoption and entry into force of the Law will not have to pay taxes to local self-governments, said Djeloshaj.
Milatović, he believes, should clarify to the public whose interest he made this decision, since he directly influenced the Electronic Communications Agency to be decapitated due to the return of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Electronic Communications.
Finally, since two of the three laws that were returned to the Parliament are from the competence of the ministry I lead, I want to inform the public that all the remarks of Milatović - to which he has no right, because as the President of the State he unconstitutionally took over the competences of the Government, are incorrect and represent a deliberate fabrication as would save armchairs for individuals, at the expense of the state's functionality. For such and similar cases, it is very important that we completed the Constitutional Court, so that no one would be allowed to be above the state, the Constitution - not even the president of the state, and so that no individual could cause damage to the institutions due to personal interests, Djeloshajconcluded. .
We remind you that Milatović's cabinet announced earlier today that the President returned to the Assembly for reconsideration the Law on Amendments to the Law on Business Companies, the Law on Amendments to the Law on Financing Local Self-Government, as well as the Law on Amendments to the Law on Electronic Communications.
