DPS: ANB withheld information about the preparation of the assassination of Đukanović, the security sector is in complete disarray

AUTHOR: M.J./POBJEDA
The case about which the Montenegrin public was informed yesterday, and which concerns the information about the preparation of the assassination of the former president of Montenegro and the Democratic Party of Socialists Milo Đukanović, once again showed the state of the security sector, said the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
In that party, they pointed out that after the two key institutions that should take care of the safety of citizens - the National Security Agency and the Police Directorate - communicated diametrically opposite information about this event, the truth is slowly starting to emerge.
- Therefore, the National Security Agency, by its own admission, had for days in possession of repeated information that the assassination of President Đukanović was being prepared, but it did not inform the Police Directorate about it, but did so only after the information was published in the media. At the same time, the police canceled the daily security of the apartment where Đukanović lives, making it easier to bring the sinister plan to an end - the DPS announced.
It is particularly incredible in the whole case, they note in that party, that a session of the BOK (Bureau for Operational Coordination) was held on Friday, whose role is precisely coordination between the authorities dealing with the security sector, and that the assassination of the former president was not even mentioned. - "although the director of ANB and UP were sitting next to each other, as the photos from the said meeting show".
- Is there a conspiracy and hidden motives in all this - we leave it to the public to judge. What is certainly clear is that the security sector has completely disintegrated and that it will need a radical reconstruction in the years ahead - the statement emphasized.
The Democratic Party of Socialists says it will continue to monitor the case and promptly inform the public of all relevant information.
