DPS: Milatović's silence on Dodik's statement shows cowardice and irresponsibility

The Democratic Party of Socialists issued a statement condemning the words of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, who said that in a few years or decades, Montenegro will be part of the great Serbian state together with Serbia, Kosovo and RS.
DPS said that the lack of reaction of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, is an indicator of cowardice and irresponsibility towards state interests.
The Democratic Party of Socialists strongly condemns the recent statement by Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska, in which he expresses his desire to create a single state consisting of Serbia, Republika Srpska and Montenegro. We believe that this statement reflects nationalist tendencies and represents a serious threat to regional stability. DPS has always been committed to the principles of multi-ethnicity, tolerance and cooperation between countries. We believe that unity and togetherness is key to building peace and prosperity in the region. Milorad Dodik's statement, which implies the creation of a single state on ethnic grounds, is contrary to these principles and can only contribute to the incitement of tensions and divisions - this party stated.
They add that Milatović, as the president of the country who should represent the interests of Montenegro, should clearly condemn "nationalist statements and emphasize the importance of preserving peace and stability in the region."
The lack of reaction from Mr. Milatović is another disappointment that points to the lack of leadership, responsibility and courage of the accidental president. DPS calls on all political leaders in the region to refrain from nationalist rhetoric and to focus on building peace, cooperation and prosperity. Only through joint work and dialogue can we overcome the past and build a European future for all citizens of our countries - they concluded.
