DPS: We welcome the Government's decision to vote for the Resolution, another confirmation of the correctness of the policy we have drawn

The Democratic Party of Socialists welcomes the decision of the Government of Montenegro, which voted today in the United Nations for the adoption of the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.

- Although a precedent was set and on such an important issue, Montenegro was not represented at the General Assembly by either the Prime Minister or the President of Montenegro. We believe that this decision of the Government is the result of the responsible attitude of the overall political scene of Montenegro with the intention of taking a responsible position in the process of dealing with the past and enabling current and future generations to continue to develop good neighborly relations on those foundations. This is especially so considering that an even tacit consensus of all political subjects on taking a clear position and condemning the genocide in Srebrenica has apparently been reached - the party pointed out.

They assessed that this decision of the Government is another confirmation of the correctness of the policy pursued by the Democratic Party of Socialists in Montenegro.

- And it makes us proud that - essentially or declaratively, our biggest political opponents are today in the positions of what are the achievements of our party. The Democratic Party of Socialists, whether it acts from the government or the opposition, will continue to be the main promoter of civil, pro-Western and Euro-Atlantic values in order to continue to direct Montenegro towards a safe and prosperous future and the company of the most developed countries in the world - the DPS concluded.
