The parliamentary majority led by Andrija Mandić, under the guise of membership in the European Union, is destroying the state and institutions and is trying to cause permanent damage to Montenegro, the DPS assesses.
"The latest case of a constitutional coup speaks of such obvious intentions when the majority, with the intention of carrying out a Stalinist purge and taking political control over the Constitutional Court, unconstitutionally retired judge Dragana Ðuranović," the DPS statement says.
This, as they claim, "is also evidenced by the attempts to violently take over power in Budva, the Resolution on the genocide in Jasenovac calculated to deliberately stop Montenegro's European path and disrupt good neighborly relations, as well as the sinister announcements of various constitutional assemblies that aim to destroy the Montenegrin identity and the civic character of the state."
"The obligation of the Democratic Party of Socialists, as a state-building party, is to prevent such actions and stop the government on the path of overthrowing the Constitution, the legal order and the state as a whole. In this intention, we will be determined, persistent and uncompromising, and no nonsense, such as the statement that is being signed today by those who would not even know how to read what was published in their name, will prevent us from doing so. As we have already stated many times - the path to resolving the crisis is more than simple - annul the unconstitutional retirement of Judge Ðuranović and keep your hands off the Constitution of Montenegro and the Parliament will function in less than 24 hours. Otherwise, until this happens, the entire socio-political life in Montenegro will be permanently paralyzed," the DPS says.
