From the protest in Podgorica, it was said that despite the pro-Russian and pro-Serbian henchmen, Montenegro is not bound

A large number of citizens protested tonight in Podgorica because of, as they say, last night's constitutional coup led by the Democratic Front. The citizens first gathered on the Independence Square, and then went to the Assembly building, from where, as reported by a CdM journalist, they shouted "This is not Serbia", ordered not to give up the state, and that despite the pro-Russian and pro-Serbian forces, Montenegro she is not bound. They were joined by the citizens of Cetinje, who today invited everyone who has "this country at heart" to join the protest walk in Podgorica.
The former president of the Youth Liberal Alliance of Montenegro, Peđa Vušurović, said that despite all the pro-Russian and pro-Serbian forces, Montenegro is not bound.
"We are all transient and sinful, and there is one eternal Montenegro that brings us together. King Nicholas was also a sinner, so he was no less ours. Only once was there a saint on the Montenegrin throne - Petar I Petrović Njegoš and never again. Today, we are on the dry and dusty road of Montenegro, where bound Montenegrins walked, with bound hands, but never with bound heads. Even today, despite all the pro-Russian and pro-Serbian forces, Montenegro is not tied down and will do everything to ensure that those handcuffs on her hands, if they already exist in the parliament, will not be there," said Vušurović.
As he added, today the parties are divided only into those that are for Montenegro and those that are against it.
"We are brothers if we are united by our love for Montenegro. We are here today because we are determined to deal with the duration and survival of our only homeland," Vušurović pointed out.
Draginja Vuksanović Stanković, deputy of the Social Democratic Party, also gave support to the citizens.
"Continuous events in the last few months point to the fact that there is a constant deliberate effort to collapse the institutions of the Montenegrin system in order to bring Montenegro to its knees. What happened last night in the parliament is a flagrant violation of the Constitution of Montenegro, because it is unprecedented that in jurisprudence, a lower legal act derogates from the powers granted to the president of the state by a higher legal act. There is lawlessness on the scene, and the reason is the fear of the DF, SNP, Democrats, URA and others from the extraordinary parliamentary elections", said Vuksanović Stanković.
She pointed out that the SDP supports the initiative to shorten the mandate of the Assembly, in order to go to extraordinary elections and so that citizens can judge everything that happens in Montenegro.
"The background of this is not the DF, but Aleksandar Vučić and the politics of Belgrade, who have entities in Montenegro, and it is the DF that they manage and carry out its tasks that are against Montenegro. The goal is not to introduce Montenegro into the EU, but to bring it to its knees and to introduce it into the "closed Balkans", which means that Montenegro returns to the politics of the 90s in order to be part of large-state projects. We must preserve Montenegro as a civil, European and multi-ethnic state", said the SDP MP.
Civic activists Jelena Mirković, Aleksandra Burzan and Ljiljana Pešić read a joint statement pointing to the unconstitutional procedure for removing the president.
"The institutions do not exist, the question is what will happen next. The only thing that stands in the defense of Montenegro is the president who cannot do it alone, so we the citizens have to," they said.
We would like to remind you that the members of the Parliament of Montenegro adopted after several hours of heated debate the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the President.
By amending the above-mentioned law, the parliamentary majority wants to force Milo Đukanović to propose a representative for the composition of the new government or exclude him from that procedure.
According to the Constitution, the President has the exclusive authority to nominate a representative for the composition of the new Government, and with these changes the parliamentary majority wants to transfer that process to the Assembly.
The members of the opposition claim that the Constitution has been violated, and that the Assembly has entered the zone of criminal responsibility.
The law was adopted under an urgent procedure, which means that Milo Đukanović is obliged to sign it within three days or return it to the Assembly for a new decision.
