German Ambassador: Adoption of the President's Law is not good for a country that wants to join the EU

Adopting the Law on the President, with the disrespect for the clear opinion of the Venetian Commission, and the non -functioning of the Constitutional Court, is not good for a country that wants to join the European Union (EU), said Germany's Ambassador in Montenegro by Peter Felten.

He wrote on tweet that they were a quick new process of selecting the judge of the Constitutional Court, agreeing about four candidates in the inclusive and participatory process to ensure a majority in parliament, key to make Montenegro move forward and return the full functionality of key institutions.

The Montenegrin Assembly adopted on Monday with the votes of the Prophet of the Democratic Front, the Civic Movement of the Ura, the Democratic Montenegro, the Socialist National Party, the Workers' Party, the unification and the true Montenegro Law on the President.

The Venetian Commission (VK) recommended that the Montenegrin Assembly did not adopt amendments to the Law on the President relating to the procedure of election of the mandaters for the Government composition.

The amendments to the Law, proposed by DF Prophets, stipulates that a mandate for the Government composition, if the President of the State does not propose it, will be considered a candidate who has a clear support of the majority of the Prophet.
