Milatović: Spajić is a leader in the domain of the collapse of the Montenegrin economy

AUTHOR: M.J.

The President of the State, Jakov Milatović, announced at the press conference that he is returning the Law on VAT and Excise Taxes, which was adopted in the Parliament last week, as part of the implementation of the "Europe Now 2" program.

"Unfortunately, it has become a rule that such laws pass without public discussion. The rise in prices is the biggest problem of the citizens of Montenegro, and my priority is the protection of citizens, and that is why I am returning these laws to the Parliament for a new decision," says Milatović.

These two laws, he adds, directly reduce the competitiveness of our economy.

"Don't let the burden of these measures fall on the backs of the citizens and the Montenegrin economy. Instead of thinking about how to better position Montenegro on the tourist map, the Government is adopting measures that affect the reduction of Montenegro's competitiveness. Why does the Government want to destroy our state-owned company, why and at whose expense is the small wine sector in Montenegro collapsing?" Milatović asks.

In addition, he says, it is incomprehensible to increase the tax on culture and sports.

"I have to say that this is an example of a value system that is now clear to everyone in Montenegro, and which is a legacy of this government. I made this decision after careful consideration and I did it in the name of the interests of the citizens, because this is not about politics, but about the future of people. I am concerned about the fact that 5.5 percent of the gross salary is taken from the workers and the PIO Fund and transferred to large capital. Why and for whose benefit is the Government doing this?" asks Milatović.

It is clear, according to Milatović, that the Government has failed the expectations of over one hundred thousand workers who were promised a minimum salary of 700 euros.

"I expect everyone in the Assembly to do their job responsibly and not to adopt those laws due to my reasons in the reconsideration. I made an appeal for the deputies to stop being people who just raise their hands," says Milatović.

He replies that he will sign other laws.

Regarding the Brioni hill, Milatović replies that after a year of the government's work, its character is clear to everyone, and that, as he says, the government has collapsed good neighborly relations with a lot of its actions.

"In that sense, the Government's decision to support a gathering of ten presidents of neighboring countries is not surprising. It is a policy of continuity when it comes to this Government. I will do my best to organize that gathering," claims Milatović.

Regarding the knowledge that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić communicated with Milo Đukanović's cabinet regarding the passing of the "crypto law", asking for support from the DPS, Milatović says that this is all information he had before, and that he considers it his duty to convey this to the citizens. Montenegro.

"Spajić is a leader in the domain of the collapse of the economy of Montenegro," claims Milatović.
