Milatović will issue a public call for the election of a new judge of the Constitutional Court in the coming days

The President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović received a notification from the Constitutional Court stating that at today's session, the judges unanimously determined that the conditions have been met for issuing a public call for the election of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro to fill the position of judge Budimir Šćepanović, for which the President of the state is competent.

As stated by the Office of the President, Milatović, acting on the submitted notification, in accordance with constitutional and legal powers, will initiate the procedure for the election of a new judge in the coming days by issuing a public call.

"In this way, the positions of President Milatović have been confirmed when it comes to insisting on respecting the constitutionally established competences of the Constitutional Court, which have been usurped in recent days by the Constitutional Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro. "This outcome of today's session of the Constitutional Court can be an incentive for everyone to make their full contribution to overcoming the institutional crisis and returning to the regular constitutional and legal framework," the statement from the President's Office states.
