Councilors Nađa Ljiljanić and Jevrosima Pejović say that the Movement for Podgorica will vote for the shortening of the mandate of the Capital City Assembly, but that they will not vote for the dismissal of Mayor Olivera Injac. Ljiljanić and Pejović state that they expect the support of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, who was the leader of the list in the Podgorica elections.
Member of the Movement for Podgorica, Nađa Ljiljanjić, says that good governance means a different attitude towards oneself, the citizens, and that it includes responsibility.
"Because of our former partners, we have to point out our concept, our concept is not measured by numbers but by taking public responsibility, we promised that and we will not deviate from it. We are consistent with the citizens, an agreement with us means restarting the system, that is why we did not agree with our former colleagues from PES. We will return the mandate to the citizens. It is rare for someone to leave the ruling party, but we are obliged to do so," said Ljiljanić at the press conference.
We expect all constituents to do the same, she adds.
"The more we agreed with PES, the farther we were from agreement. We will shorten the mandate of the Assembly on July 26," Ljiljanić points out.
Councilor Jevrosima Pejović says that the capital has no coordination, and that Mayor Olivera Injac is not doing her job properly.
"We expect all councilors to show responsibility," Pejović points out.
The Movement for Podgorica will not vote on the initiative to remove Injac, adds Ljiljanić.
Trust in PES, he says, has been completely lost. "This is our beginning and PES's end," Ljiljanić believes.
Jevrosima Pejović says that colleagues from PES tried to force them to play their game. "We insisted on transparency, and they wanted to lower us to the level of political mud," she adds.
The holder of the list in Podgorica was Jakov Milatović and we expect his support, emphasized Nađa Liljanić.
"We will try to have quality people lead this city. We overthrew the thirty-year regime in Podgorica, anyone who is for a European city is welcome here," said the press conference.
