Mustafić: We are amazed by the brutality of the media campaign which tries to undermine the concept of equality of people in civil Montenegro

We are amazed by the brutality of the media campaign, which, in every possible way, tries to undermine the concept of equality of peoples in civil Montenegro and create the illusion of a society in which there are privileged peoples and groups that have a greater right than others to decide and shape state policy, said the leader of the Bosniak Council in Montenegro Suljo Mustafić.

These tendencies are not new, we remind you of the 90s and the pre-referendum period, when Bosniaks and other less numerous peoples were denied the possibility of political organization, and then the right to decide on the restoration of the independence of their own state - Mustafić pointed out.

According to him, it is clear that disappointed expectations or calculations regarding the formation of the new Government are not the cause, but only the occasion, which has repeatedly disclosed ideas that they tried to convince us were overcome and abandoned.

Their actors, from parts of the war-mongering ruling bloc from the 90s, extreme unionists from 2006, to today's rebranded clerical-nationalist groups, only in different forms, convey the same idea - that Montenegro is a latifundia in which only one has the right to decide "people's majority", while the other "people's minority" can only deal with low-level affairs, far from state policies and any serious influence - stated the leader of the Bosniak Council.

He warns and indicates that these tendencies are particularly worrying (but not surprising, because it is not new) silence of the non-governmental sector, intellectuals and other public employees.

Namely, in 2020, most of them "tucked their tails" and "wisely" observed the ostracism of hundreds of members of less numerous nations from institutions and decision-making places, which was systematically carried out by the then anti-secular and anti-European government - said Mustafić.

He notes that what is surprising and what they underline is the role of the media in this blatant campaign - along with the expected behavior of mercenary branches, but also unexpected from RTCG, as a public service.

Therefore, instead of the state public service, which is financed with the money of all citizens, being a model of professionalism and objectivity, fake news is posted on its portal, like a fair advertisement. to make the expected programs and form newsrooms in the languages of all the less numerous nations, how to bring at least one journalist or editor of Bosniak nationality (of which there are none), his portal contributes to this anti-minority media hysteria - the announcement reads.

He warns that it will be difficult for our society to get out of such a den of intolerance, and that those who contribute to it will have to bear responsibility, when the accounts are tallied - through the negative reports of European partners and further stopping the integration of our society into the developed and democratic world and, especially , for the long-term contamination of society and generations that such a media scene shapes and educates.

However, what the principals and executors of these policies need to know is that such tendencies will not discourage the Bosniak people, which have always been based on the territory of Montenegro, and that its representatives and leaders will unitedly and unitedly oppose all attempts at marginalization and subjugation, whether from who were coming. We perceive the state of Montenegro as the home of all its peoples and citizens, aware of the fact that it has traced its Euro-Atlantic, pro-Western and democratic path, with the unreserved support of less numerous peoples and, therefore, we will not allow any alteration of that social reality - concludes Mustafić.
