A lot of things could be heard in the last couple of months regarding the planned construction of the LNG terminal and Thermal Power Plant in Bar. We have come to the point where it has been officially confirmed by potential investors that a mistake was made in that since the beginning of the project, citizen representatives and the public of the city of Bar were not included, announced the president of the Bar Municipal Assembly, Branislav Nenezić.
- Numerous secret visits, together with representatives of the last two governments, deliberately hidden from the public, had their purpose, which was to bring the project to the stage when the citizens of Bar would be faced with a fait accompli, a take-it-or-leave-it offer, i.e. just “take it”. Apart from one copy of the printed "presentation" on a couple of pages, one year after signing the memorandum according to which they were obliged to prepare a cost-benefit analysis, an environmental impact study, we could hear from the representatives of the interested companies that there was a willingness to talk, aware that they we had to do that much earlier - said Nenezić.
He referred to a couple of facts that citizens must know, and which could be heard, namely that the companies Eneflex energy systems and Wethington Energy Innovation are planning to collaborate for the first time on a project in Bar.
- When asked to name one project in the world on which they worked, there was silence (although I repeated "Example" several times), that the project essentially represents an LNG storage facility, not a terminal, because LNG will only be imported, not exported, and that the project without the thermal power plant cannot be realized, and the same must not be further than a few hundred meters from the same one, that neither of the two companies is engaged in the construction of the thermal power plant, but someone else would do it, that some of them are already in Bar for the fifth time related to The LNG terminal and the thermal power plant, that the gas that would be supplied as well as the electricity that would be produced in the thermal power plant would not be "ours", but in the end we would buy the same electricity, that the LNG terminal and the thermal power plant would not even have to be built in Bar. and Luca Bar because it is a new project that will not use the existing railway, but that they "planned" it there because it was the proposal of former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović - he emphasizes.
He points out that unlike the veil of secrecy, covert visits under the auspices of Abazović's government, they always have a transparent and correct approach of the current minister Saša Mujović, who looks at things objectively and who clearly analyzed all the shortcomings and advantages of this project from a scientific point of view.
- My dear fellow citizens, and above all the representatives of individual parties at the local level. All the mentioned examples of tourist places where there is an LNG terminal, Barcelona, Civitavekia, Nantes, which you cited in your "defense" and replication, separate me from the potential project in Bar by the fact that there is "only" an LNG terminal in them, not the Thermal Power Plant. There is no gathering of political points here, as there was not for the famous potential purchase of the "overpriced" ferry "AF Francesca", nor for the damage that will be caused by the new atlases of bathing areas, nor for the route of the highway through the villages of Crmnik, but only concern for the city in where you live and where you plan to continue living. Some "victories" have already been "recorded", so this one will be the same, but not because of "points", but only because of the citizens of Bar - concluded Nenezić.
