Nikolić: Everything came down to blackmail on how to feed the hungry mouths of officials

AUTHOR: M.J. GDNUS
It should be explained to the Prime Minister that the money at his disposal, as prime minister, is not his, but the money of all taxpayers in Montenegro, and that Montenegrin society is democratic, not autocratic, where it is determined who should speak, when he should speak, and in whose name, Andrija Nikolić, head of the club of representatives of the Democratic Party of Socialists, said in the central news program 24 Sata, on Television E.
"It is an obvious expression of the Prime Minister's nervousness, Mr. Spajić. First of all, I notice that he identified himself with the state, saying that the state was being sued at the 2BS Forum, and then he interfered in the conception of the 2BS Forum, trying, I guess, to suggest who, according to him, should be the desirable interlocutors, who will talk about the relevant security topics. President of the country Milatićović and former president Đukanović were very recently guests of an also important international Globsec forum, where the organizers thought that they could be competent interlocutors on certain topics, I don't see a problem with the fact that they are the current organizers from the Atlantic Alliance assessed that the former and current president of Montenegro could competently speak to the current social and political challenges in Montenegro and in the region," said Nikolić.
The postponement of the trip to New York, for the United Nations General Assembly, which is attended by officials from all member states, was motivated, according to Nikolić, by the local elections in Podgorica.
"It is clear to everyone why Milojko Spajić chose to be in Montenegro. The assessment was that the elections in Podgorica, at this moment, are more important than the presentation of the state in New York, how it paid off for the Prime Minister in the end, let the citizens judge that of Montenegro", he pointed out.
It would be unnatural and, as he says, contrary to common sense, if those who, because they thought that it did not work well, overthrew the government in the capital, were now part of the same government again.
"That would not only be in conflict with common sense, but would seriously question the integrity of those who initiated the procedure to replace the local government in Podgorica. I think that the citizens of Podgorica voted no confidence in Andrija Mandić, Milojko Spajić, Aleksa Bečić and Milan Knežević," said Nikolić.
The Democratic Party of Socialists, he adds, has an additional responsibility, because, as he says, every third citizen of Podgorica voted for them. He also reminds that that party also won the elections in Kotor, and that ten votes were missing for the eleventh mandate, which, it is believed, can be won in repeated elections at one polling station.
"Additional responsibility implies that we do not get involved in the state of relations in some other political coalitions. I expect the election commission in Kotor to do its work in accordance with the law. I believe that he has the capacity to make decisions in that way, that is, to rise above politics. If there is a repeat election at one or more polling stations, I expect that this will be sufficient motivation for citizens who vote at that polling station to go to the polls and contribute to a democratic and fair atmosphere on election day," said Nikolić.
The story about the coalition potential of the parties that are in power at the state level, he believes, has been shaken, because local examples show that no government they form lasts longer than a year and a half.
"I think that speaks volumes about the actors who make up that government. I think it all came down to blackmail on how much to feed the hungry mouths of officials in certain areas. That's why you have frequent repetition of choices. On the other hand, where the DPS forms the government, the government is mostly stable," Nikolić concluded.
