Nikolić: Mandić abused the Assembly, the opposition will have an adequate response

AUTHOR: M.J.
The head of the Parliamentary Club of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Andrija Nikolić, said that the Assembly is completely locked and abused by its president Andrija Mandić, and that the opposition will prepare an adequate response if there is no will to change the situation.
He said at the press conference that for the fifth day, the parliamentary majority, for some reason, does not provide a quorum for the start of the parliamentary session.
- Why do they do that - is a question for them and very soon the intentions of this kind of disrespect for the citizens of Montenegro will be revealed. It is much more important why the democratic right of the opposition in this Parliament is being usurped, who is doing it, with what goal and who is being served in this way. It is known that sometimes the opposition boycotts the work of the parliament, but it is not known that the parliamentary majority does so - said Nikolić.
As he said, it is known that the hearing of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Internal Affairs, which was scheduled two months ago, was cancelled.
- Then we barely got an appointment to bring the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior to the Assembly and for the citizens to receive an adequate answer through their elected representatives. In the meantime, without consulting the Collegium, the Prime Minister's Hour session scheduled for June 28 was canceled and moved to Saturday. We are just waiting for the Prime Minister to tell us that he will not be able to come on Saturday because he has scheduled a swim somewhere on the Montenegrin coast. He almost declared that he does not come to the Montenegrin parliament because he thinks that a circus is happening here. It is so frivolous and disrespectful, not only to the parliamentary opposition, but to the citizens of Montenegro. This is the complete collapse and degradation of parliamentarism in Montenegro. If we had a "puff-puff" government, now we have a "truć-truć" parliament - said Nikolić.
According to him, there is no discussion in the parliamentary plenum because someone decided to lock up the institution in order to be able to effectively blackmail the one from whom he expects to render him certain services.
- This has become a trading market where everyone expresses the need to be in power, they only take care of how they will satisfy their personal, party and particular interests, and nobody cares about the interests of the public - emphasizes Nikolić.
He said that the opposition will have an adequate response after they see if there is a mood to redefine mutual relations at the session of the Collegium and if it makes sense for them to participate in its further work.
- We also planned today at the parliamentary session to request an urgent session of the Collegium, where we would review the further participation of the opposition in its work. It is not the Collegium of the Assembly, but the parliamentary majority that makes decisions, and then we, as members of that Collegium, and the entire Montenegrin public are informed of their decisions. They will not be able to do so and we will see at the next session what steps we will take - emphasized Nikolić.
He pointed out that in the parliamentary leadership, the parliamentary majority and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, there are little dictators who are ready to overthrow the parliament and the possibility to speak in it and review their work.
- If that is not possible, of course we will define adequate answers and find adequate therapy, and we will see what that therapy will be, after first seeing if there is a mood to redefine mutual relations at the session of the Collegium and if there is a chance for representatives of the opposition to participate in the work of the collegium - said Nikolić.
When asked whether the proposed resolution on Jasenovac will be discussed on June 28, he said that Croatia and the EU cannot be deceived by the fact that this document will be put on the agenda after Montenegro receives a positive IBAR in Brussels.
- The inevitable consequence of such an action in the parliament is the stopping of Montenegro's European path. They decided to keep it in a drawer until they return from Brussels, and then perhaps through the addition of the agenda on Thursday, they will submit the Resolution on Jasenovs to the parliamentary procedure. They think they are so smart that they have fooled the citizens of Montenegro and our international partners. This is how a matchmaking and irresponsible policy towards national interests is conducted. What will happen on Friday - we will see. It is up to them to decide what is in their procedure, what will be discussed in the Assembly because the democratic rights belonging to the opposition are suspended, as well as the Rules of Procedure because the session on Friday is scheduled without the point that the opposition has the right to run for office at each session. I think the worst about them and their intentions - emphasized Nikolić.
He said that the government has shown that it is inferior to its neighbor, and the parliament has shown indignity by humiliating the citizens of Montenegro by trading with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
