Former high-ranking official of the Montenegrin police, Zoran Lazović, who was arrested on Sunday under the accusations of the Special State Prosecutor's Office that he organized a criminal group that enabled Veljka Belivuk and Marko Miljković to enter Montenegro, informed Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović in a letter through his lawyer on March 12. that he is ready to come to the SDT on any call and that he does not want to avoid or interfere with any lawful work of the Prosecutor's Office.
Lazović's lawyer, Nikola Martinović, through whom the letter was delivered to the Chief Special Prosecutor, also provided Lazović's phone number, through which he can be reached "for the needs of any action by the Prosecutor's Office", M portal reports.
In the letter submitted to the Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović, it is stated, among other things, that "a few days ago, Zoran Lazović received a "well-intentioned" message from a journalist who claims to have a reliable source of information in the SDT, that this Prosecutor's Office is preparing a spectacular deprivation of liberty for Zoran Lazović, which would fulfill the expectations of the politicians in power and justify the media campaign so far. Without the intention of influencing the work of the Prosecutor's Office in any way, except to act in accordance with the law and impartially, Zoran Lazović informs you that he is ready to come to any call of the Prosecutor's Office The Prosecutor's Office does not want to avoid or interfere with any legal work of the Prosecutor's Office, just like before."

The letter also states that "the negative campaign of politicians and the media, which has been conducted against him for many years, has culminated in the last two years. Certain media have heated up the campaign so much that press clippings show that in the last two years, on average, five negative texts were published every day, in which Lazović is associated with criminal activities, and the Prosecutor's Office calls for his arrest".
Regardless of the fact that Lazović was apparently informed a month ago about the preparation of his arrest and the manner in which it would be carried out, no one from the SDT or the Special Police Department called him and asked him to appear at their premises.
We remind you that former police officer Zoran Lazović and former chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić were arrested on April 14 at dawn. Lazović is accused of having ordered Katnić on December 3, 2020, that, at the request of Radoj Zvicer, criminal proceedings should not be initiated against Duško Roganović, a member of the Kavaka criminal organization, which was all requested by Petar Lazović, who had infiltrated the criminal organization.
Prosecutor Šoškić accused Katnić that - after the electronic media in Montenegro published the information that the Special State Prosecutor's Office had archived the case - he misled the public that the defendant Petar Lazović was on assignment and that collateral damage was an attempt to violate independence Montenegro.
It is claimed that Katnić controlled the decision of special prosecutor Čađenović and found that there was no reason to initiate criminal proceedings against Petar Lazović.
