DPS President Danijel Živković said that a Constitutional coup took place today.
"As you have seen, a constitutional coup has taken place. The parliamentary majority aims to destroy Montenegro," Živković announced at a press conference, immediately after the adoption of the conclusions of the Constitutional Committee and the decision to announce advertisements for new judges of that court.
From today on, nothing will be the same, said Živković, adding that the President of the Parliament and the Government, Andrija Mandić and Milojko Spajić, are to blame for this.
"As of today, the work of the Committee for Reform and Legislation is dead. We call on the special state prosecutor to investigate the responsibility of the parliamentary majority and the judges to urgently declare themselves on this today," the DPS leader announced, adding, "We will give an adequate response to this behavior."
GP URA leader Dritan Abazović also claims that a coup took place in the Parliament.
"Today, a coup d'état was carried out in the Parliament of Montenegro. This has never happened since the Constitutional Court was established, this is just a prelude to other actions that would bring Montenegro to its knees," Abazović said. He warned that "The introduction to the creeping dictatorship of Spajić and Mandić must not pass.
"We cannot take the authority of the Constitutional Court for granted. If someone does not understand this, they should not hold an important position in Montenegro."
Abazović believes that such a violation of the constitution is a criminal offense.
"We are grateful to certain members of parliament from minority parties who did not support such legal solutions," he said and called on the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, to get involved so that Montenegro can breathe democratically.
"This is a fight between democracy and people who want an undemocratic system," Abazović described the situation and sent a call to all democratic forces to defend order.
"Just to be clear, we will oppose it in every possible way. If they think they can humiliate every organ, they won't be able to do that."
Adrijan Vuksanović, one of the leaders of the European Movement and the head of the Croatian Civic Initiative, also claimed that an attack on the Constitution took place in the Parliament of Montenegro.
"Tonight, an attack on the state and legal order of Montenegro took place. We are together because we are aware of the crisis Montenegro is going through, said Vuksanović.
His coalition partner and SDP president Boris Mugoša, while assessing that this is a coup, also says that everything is being done so that the parliamentary majority can torture Montenegro.
