Perović: All the decisions of the retired Metropolitan Mihail are null and void, he chose a path that is not good for the Church or for him

We deeply believed that the retired Metropolitan Mihailo, even in his new position, would use all his available energies to improve the work of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church and strengthen its internal unity. We believed that he would also be inspired by the spirit that was revived at the General Assembly of Montenegro on the third of September to use his experience to help the new metropolitan and the clergy in the consolidation of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church, announced the Cabinet of the Archbishop of Cetinje and the Metropolitan of Montenegro.
The announcement states that "unfortunately, the retired metropolitan chose a path that is not good for the Church or for him."
"He tried to ignore all the decisions of the General Assembly of Montenegro and place himself above the entire organization of the Church, of which he is no longer the head. He tried to clear the priests, even though he is no longer the head of the Church. He tried to regulate the internal relations and organization of the Church, even though the majority will of the clergy and believers did not is at the head of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church. All the "decisions" that he announced in the latter address are null and void, because as a retired metropolitan, he does not have the authority to make any decisions in the Montenegrin Orthodox Church," the press release points out and clarifies:
"First. His "decision" to convene the "Synod" is null and void, because before that he actually abolished it.
Second. His "decision" to suddenly "co-opt" Bishop Simeon (Helmut Millihofer) into such a "Synod" is invalid, because he retired him in April of this year.
Third. All decisions of the "Synod" made up of three foreign citizens are null and void. Retired Metropolitan Mihailo Dedeić has an Italian passport and Italian citizenship. Retired bishop Simeon (Helmut Milihofer) has Austrian citizenship. Bishop Gorazd (Claudio Fabian Gago Rosa) has Argentine citizenship.
Fourth. All the "decisions" of such a "Synod" which consists of three foreign citizens, and there is no native Montenegrin in it, are null and void. The retired metropolitan is preparing the ground to strengthen his fake "Synod" with another foreigner, not hiding that his name is Sergey Romanovich.
Fifth. The decision of such a "Synod" to "cancel" the decision of the General Assembly of Montenegro by which Bishop Boris Bojović was elected Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro is null and void. Such a "Synod" cannot exonerate anyone, especially not the current spiritual head of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church!
Sixth. The self-proclaimed "Synod" was deeply offended by the ancient legacy of Saint Peter of Cetinje: "The Metropolitan is a natural Montenegrin, just as the first metropolitans were, and a foreigner cannot be a metropolitan in Montenegro, rather than a native Montenegrin from the first Montenegrin families".
Seventh. The "decision" of the retired Metropolitan Mihail to "transfer" his metropolitan authority - which was revoked by the General Assembly of Montenegro upon his retirement - to unknown persons from his environment is senseless. A retired metropolitan cannot even make a "decision" to remove himself. On the contrary, he missed the opportunity to resign from the active post of metropolitan in a dignified manner and thus preserve the dignity of the metropolitan.
Eighth. The "decision" of retired Metropolitan Mihail to cancel the Constitution of the CPC from 2022 is senseless, even though that Constitution never came into force!
Ninth. Instead of handing over the seal of the Church, its archives, and its movable and immovable property to the care of the newly elected Metropolitan Boris and the clergy of the Church, the retired Metropolitan Mihailo hands them over to unknown persons.
Montenegro is being robbed of its entire Orthodox sacred treasure. Retired Metropolitan Mihailo, together with unknown and well-known faces, planned to rob Montenegro and the Montenegrins and make the Montenegrin Orthodox Church itself meaningless. As long as there is a virtuous and patriotic clergy of the Montenegrin Church, this intention will not succeed!", concludes the statement from the Cabinet of the Archbishop of Cetinje and the Metropolitan of Montenegro, signed by Prof. Dr. Milenko A. Perović.
