Pisonero: urgently to ensure the functioning of the Constitutional Court and revoke the amendments to the President Act

All political actors in Montenegro must urgently be a presence of the action to ensure the functioning of the Constitutional Court and recall the amendments to the President's Law. It is of vital importance that everyone in Montenegro is maximally maintained and maintained from further provocative actions - said the Portparolka European Commission Ana Pisonero.

She stated that Montenegro had missed another opportunity to appoint members of the Constitutional Court and end the institutional crisis.

A fully functional constitutional court made up of competent members is the key to protect Montenegro to protect the basic rights of its citizens and to progress in the European path - said the European Commission's spokesman in the Tviter announcement.

She said that a new call for candidates to fill in vacancies in the Constitutional Court and a proper and inclusive selection process should be initiated without delay.

The voting in the Assembly for the adoption of amendments to the President's Act is contrary to the recommendations of the Venetian Commission that the law is not adopted until the CC becomes fully operating and in a state to evaluate its constitutionality after adoption - Pisonero added.
