Five firefighters from Podgorica will leave for Bosnia and Herzegovina tomorrow in order to join the action to clean up the consequences of the catastrophic floods that hit that country.
This is what the acting commander told the ETV portal. the commander of the Protection and Rescue Service of the Capital City, Zdravko Blečić, saying that they will stay to help their neighbors as long as necessary.
"We were ready from the first moment, our Service made itself available to the neighbors, but we had to comply with the procedures of the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union (EU). Five of our officers should leave tomorrow, and I asked them to be deployed where it is most difficult, because we are ready to respond to the task," said Blečić.
He added that replacements are ready, if the Podgorica firefighters stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina for more than five days.
"We sympathize with everyone who lost their loved ones and their property. We are always ready to help within our capabilities", said Blečić.
Aid to Bosnia is coming from all the countries of the region, and Montenegro has also launched an action to collect financial aid.
