The messages that Patriarch Porfirije sends during his stay in Montenegro clearly indicate that he arrived as an emissary of Aleksandar Vučić in the pre-census campaign in our country - said Andrija Nikolić, a member of the presidency and deputy of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
During the liturgy in Podgorica in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, the Serbian Partarch Porfirije Perić said that their beginnings and roots are deeply planted in Podgorica, and that here they know best who they are, what language they speak and what nation they belong to.
We are in several countries, but there is one red thread that unites us and makes us one - and that is the Orthodox Church and faith. As long as we are bound to that faith, at the same time, having our Orthodox Christian identity as a foundation, we have the strength and ability to develop every type of our identity. If we know that anywhere, we know it here in Podgorica because our beginning and our roots are deeply planted here. The Serbian prefect Stefan was born in this town and acting from here he united Raška and Zeta. The parent of Saint Sava, the first Serbian archbishop. That's why here, better than in other places, we know who we are, what religion we belong to and it distinguishes and affirms us, we also know what language we speak and what nation we belong to... - stated Porfirije.
Commenting on the messages of Porfiri, Nikolić assessed that the religious act of consecrating the temple in Podgorica was misused to nationally indoctrinate the faithful.
