The Higher State Prosecutor's Office asked the Court for Misdemeanors in Podgorica to initiate proceedings against columnist Antena M and professor at FCJK Dr. Boban Batrićević and punish him under Art. 19 of the Law on Public Order and Peace.
According to state prosecutor Snežana Šišević, Batrićević broke the law and deserved punishment because of the column he wrote, which was published by that portal on August 11 of this year.
Prosecutor Šišević proposed that the Podgorica Misdemeanor Court "schedule and hold the main trial" and invite the Senior State Prosecutor and the "defendant Boban Batrićević" to the hearing. He also requests that in the evidentiary proceedings "perform an inspection of the publication from the Antena M portal dated August 11, 2023 and the extract from the PE records in the name of the defendant".
In his column, Dr. Boban Batrićević analyzed and expressed value judgments about the behavior of the Church of Serbia in Montenegro and its local bishops. Senior state prosecutor Snežana Šišević believes that he violated the law by arguing that the priests of the Church of Serbia do not preach the faith of Christ and that he should be punished.
