Pupils without transport for 10 months, the ministry promises a solution

Pupils of the "Mihailo Žugić" Primary School from Odžak near Pljevlja have not had school transport for ten months.
Parents, on the brink of patience, announce that the children will boycott classes if a vehicle is not provided soon.
The problem could soon be overcome, because the relevant ministry said in a statement to TVCG that the school will soon receive a van for temporary use.
It used to be normal to walk kilometers from home to school. And that this is also today's reality and that it is not just pale and nostalgic memories are evidenced by the students of the Elementary School "Mihailo Žugić" in Odžak near Pljevlja.
"Our problem has been going on since February, when our vehicle could not pass the technical inspection, since then parents have been struggling with transportation," says Irma Ajanović, president of the Parents' Council.
Providing transportation was one of the first tasks of the new director, and several agreements failed due to problems in the finalization itself.
"We are again in negotiations with the Ministry of Education, they promised us that they will finalize the provision of transportation for our children," said Bojana Despotović, acting director of the "Mihailo Žugić" elementary school.
Parents on the brink of patience announce a boycott of classes.
"I appeal to the Ministry of Education to provide us with a van, because as soon as it starts raining and snowing, I will not and cannot send my children to school," said Dženana Džidić, mother of two students.
"We are giving one week to the Ministry of Education to give us an answer, in case we don't get a van, we are ready to start a boycott in front of the school from next Tuesday," said Irma Ajanović, president of the Council of Parents.
A one-time minibus ride to the film screening was provided by the municipality of Pljevlja, and the relevant Ministry of Culture told TVCG that as a temporary solution, the school in Odžak should receive a van to transport students in the next few days, after registration.
