Montenegro must now focus on reforms and closing the negotiation chapters until 2026, and there should be no issues that divert its focus from that goal, said the Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) in Podgorica, Judy Rising Reinke.
She said at the To be secure (2BS) forum in Budva, which was organized by the Atlantic Alliance of Montenegro (ASCG), that they believe that Montenegro is the first next member of the European Union (EU).
The USA, as Rajnke said, is not the only one that supports the progress of Montenegro on the path of integration into the EU.
She pointed out the importance of obtaining the Report on the Assessment of the Fulfillment of Temporary Benchmarks (IBAR).
"Now that the state needs to focus on closing the chapter by 2026, there should be no issues that divert its focus from that goal," said Rajnke.
She stated that the US is concerned about the inclusion in the Government of members who are known for their views that are not in line with those of their partners.
"This country must now, more than ever, focus on reforms," Rajnke emphasized.
According to her, the Government of Montenegro will strengthen economic stability by moving closer to the EU.
It is necessary, as Rajnke said, to work on reconciliation and reforms in the Western Balkans for the sake of the security of the entire region.
She emphasized that reconciliation is crucial for the entire region.
Rajnke stressed that the power of reconciliation is in the hands of citizens and that every citizen has the opportunity to refuse provocations.
She said that spreading tolerance is key in Montenegro and the Western Balkans for a better, safer and more prosperous future.
Rajnke called for tolerance and respect, stating that these values are stronger than weapons.
