Sánchez: It is clear that these elections are a turning point for the future path of Montenegro

The President of the Socialist International and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez sent a letter of support to President Milo Đukanović for the presidential elections - announced the Democratic Party of Socialists.
As stated in the announcement, Sánchez said that as the president of the Socialist International, he wants to express his full support to their sister party DPS and wish candidate Đukanović success in the upcoming presidential elections.
Our political family recognizes the importance of the vision of your party and its leader Milo Đukanović, who in the previous period saved Montenegro from war, achieved independence of Montenegro and turned it towards the western course, towards EU and NATO integration. It is clear that these elections are a turning point for the future path of Montenegro - said Sanchez.
He believes that the citizens of Montenegro will recognize in these elections that, as stated, only policies based on universal social democratic values, peace, democracy and equality can be successful for our country.
This is an opportunity to create the conditions for Montenegro to return to the path of European integration and economic progress. Also, it will be an additional impulse for both the Western Balkans and the European Union to recognize the importance of peace and stability in the societies of the region, which would contribute to the whole of Europe - emphasizes the letter of Sanchez.
The Socialist International is the largest global organization that gathers socialist and social-democratic parties from all over the world, and Pedro Sánchez was elected its president in November last year at the congress in Madrid.
