SD initiative: Flexible working hours, shift selection, private and business balance

On the occasion of the 1st Major - the Day of Labor, the Social Districts remind the balance of the balance between private and business life that sent to social partners a year ago.

The mentioned initiative, stand out in SD, implies a number of measures that facilitate child labor and parallel business obligations, but not the employer's scope. Part of the measures refers to all parents, and part to those who have greater demands in front of them - single, parents of children up to three years old, as well as those who take care of other family members, allegations of SD.

The measures that the Social Democrats have proposed, among other things:

· Flexible working hours for child care for up to three years of age;

· Determine additional paid days of absence or flexible time when adjusting children when leaving a kindergarten or school;

· Employers to enable the selection of shifts-in shift work, for parents who are self-careful about the child or other parent because of the nature of the job is unable to have a choice of remedial work;

· Enable at least Sunday Day of the holiday employee / OJ during school holidays;

· Employers with a larger number of employees to organize in their organization, while children are at work (form a children's corner within the company - storage of children, playrooms, stay);

· Recognize the importance of the role of the Father in the first days after the birth of a child (legally prescribed three days extend to 10, so that the Father would be more active involved in obligations and linked to his child);

· At least five paid days a year to enable the employee who takes care of other household members - due to illness or inability to take care of themselves;

· Introduce flexible working hours, work from home, possibility of compensation lost hours due to careful care or older family members;

· Time for training and additional education include working hours.

The initiative, in cooperation with the social partners, initiated and prepared a forum of the Social Democrates led by the President of the Forum Ivan Radicevic, and Vice President of SD Boris Mugoš.

Many of the above measures are completely free and require only a little flexibility and planning work process. If they are applied, it will create a completely different business and family ambience. This will mean a better family organization and more time for private obligations, but not an employer's scope. For such amendments, the social partners last year, during our talks, showed openness and support - said Radicevic Radičević.

The vice president and MP SD Boris Mugoš states that measures must be such that they provide equal chances for women and men.

The gender-conscious employer, who creates his policy through gender analysis and gender responsible business, is that if he has hearing the needs of his employees, the most valuable elements for success, development and employment motivation, their job satisfaction and loyal attitude towards the organization - He points out Mugos.
