SD: Let Mandić first condemn Belgrade's inappropriate interference, we are already discussing the census with the Government

The Social Democrats, as a responsible political entity, recognizing the complexity of the socio-political situation in Montenegro, but also the importance of the population census for the success of various strategies, policies and plans at the state and local level, are already participating in the negotiations initiated by the Government of Montenegro, in order to give necessary contribution to the establishment of adequate control mechanisms that would guarantee the credibility and truthfulness of the collected data - they said in that party.
If in the negotiations with the Government they reach an acceptable agreement on the conditions for holding the census, which would possibly include the need to change the corresponding legislation, they say that in that case a dialogue in the Parliament of Montenegro would be both necessary and desirable.
As we are now fully committed to the already started dialogue with the Government, we do not see the need to conduct a parallel dialogue in the Parliament as well. If Andrija Mandić already at this stage wants to provide the necessary contribution to the entire process, then he can do so in the most concrete way by clearly and loudly condemning the brutal, direct and extremely inappropriate interference of the official Belgrade in the process of the population census in Montenegro, i.e. condemning the aforementioned an aggressive and inappropriate attack on the freedom of choice of the citizens of Montenegro, which comes from another country - they state in SD.
Therefore, the Social Democrats point out that they will not participate in any negotiations regarding the population census under the auspices of Andrija Mandić, before its clear determination according to the above-mentioned anomalies that undermined confidence in the census process, but also in the umbrella statistical institution in Montenegro.
