Spajić does not give Milatović money for the organization of the Brdo-Brioni summit

AUTHOR: M.J.
The government did not approve the request of the Cabinet of the President of Montenegro for funds for the organization of the Brdo-Brioni Process regional meeting, which should be held in Tivat on October 7 and 8, "Dan" learns from unofficial but reliable sources close to the office of President Jakov Milatović.
The Brdo-Brioni process is supposed to take place at the Ridžent Hotel in Porto Montenegro, but the organization is now in question, Portal Antena M confirmed.
By the way, during his visit to Slovenia, Milatović agreed with the president of that country, Nataša Pirc Musar, that Montenegro would host this year's summit.
As soon as we received the organization of this summit, President Milatović's cabinet started preparations and approached the Government about finances, which, by the way, has always been the practice. That was last year, and those funds should have been provided through the budget. Then the Government announced that there was no money and that they would provide the funds this year, which, obviously, was not done - says an interlocutor of "Dana" close to the office of the President of the State, who wished to remain anonymous.
Now it is quite obvious that the cohabitation between President Milatović and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić is not working in the best way and that moves, such as this one, which can be attributed to their personal relationship are being noticed more and more often. However, in this particular case, it represents a problem for the entire country because it can also call into question its international reputation.
It is simply hard to believe that a country that has one of the most cumbersome governments and administrations and that spends money hand over fist on officials of all kinds does not have the money to finance an international gathering of state importance at a high level.
The process is an annual multilateral event in the Western Balkans. It was launched in 2013 by the then Croatian president Ivo Josipović and his then Slovenian colleague Borut Pahor. The first official meeting was held on Brdo pri Kranj in Slovenia. The main focus of the process is the enlargement of the European Union to the countries of the Western Balkans.
The summit is usually attended by the highest representatives of the countries of the Western Balkans, along with the presidents of Slovenia and Croatia, which are members of the European Union.
Last year, this summit was held in North Macedonia and Jakov Milatović also participated in it.
