The EU belongs to ME: We call on the competent institutions and international organizations to react to the brutal violation of human rights

The platform “EU belongs to ME” reacts to the unjust attack on free citizens who are fighting for true universal human values. The platform brings together citizens as well as organizations and groups aimed at encouraging the environment for progressive social changes, integration of Montenegro into the EU, and is based on universal values and principles of equality, human dignity, and freedom.
In the month preceding the International Human Rights Day, we had a series of activities aimed at the original violation of human rights and individuals, respected members of Montenegrin societies: 1. BIRN's report from Montenegro based on speculation and false information, directly aimed at endangering basic human rights: journalists, human rights fighters, citizens; 2. The day before yesterday's attack on our cycling representative Ivo Gardašević by Milan Knežević, who first made a physical attack, and then was the first to present false information in order to cover up the offense. Illegal detention of the young man by the institutions and further failure to protect his basic rights; 3. On the Human Rights Day itself, a new black list of citizens who freely express their thinking regarding current social events appeared.
We call on competent institutions, human rights NGO’s organizations from Montenegro, as well as international organizations, to react in connection with the increasingly frequent and brutal violation of basic human rights. Montenegro, according to all research, dominantly and unwaveringly expresses the need for EU integration and respect of universal and EU values.
