The meeting showed the depth of the crisis that Montenegro is in, we stand by our conditions and are ready for dialogue

The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) said that today's meeting of the President of the Assembly, Danijela Đurović, with the leaders of the parliamentary parties, where they discussed solving the political and institutional crisis in Montenegro, showed the depth of the crisis the country is in.
They said that they stand by their conditions, with a readiness for dialogue.
DPS, as a responsible political party whose goal is to further build institutions, responded to the invitation to attend today's meeting organized by the President of the Assembly, in the hope that through dialogue a solution will be reached that will mean a way out of the political and overall social crisis in which Montenegro is findings. The meeting, however, showed the depth of the crisis that the country is facing, which is best evidenced by the attitude of the deposed prime minister, at the same time the president of the GP URA, who said that the situation in the country is completely normal, as well as the behavior and performance of the leader of the pro-Russian Democratic Front, who have stated that they will no longer participate in the talks citing trivial and completely unfounded reasons for such an irresponsible approach - said the DPS.
They said that their views on the current situation in the country are completely clear.
We demand that the Law on the President be immediately withdrawn and that it be prevented from entering into force, which would prevent a constitutional coup and thus create the preconditions for the procedure of electing judges of the Constitutional Court to be returned to the Constitutional Committee, in order to create - with an essential and not a simulated dialogue prerequisites for the election of four judges and thereby enabled the smooth operation of one of the most important institutions in the country - emphasized the DPS.
They added that if the DPS comes after the above, they will insist on shortening the mandate of the Assembly in order to create the conditions for the organization of extraordinary parliamentary elections "which would mark the definitive end of the political crisis, after which Montenegro would get a responsible, political, stable and the European Government".
In the next period, as before, the Democratic Party of Socialists will remain dedicated to dialogue in order to resolve, in accordance with the views of our European partners, the deep and institutional crisis that Montenegro is experiencing, with the expressed hope that those political subjects, who at least declaratively declare themselves as civil and European, will not allow themselves to be the decor of the Democratic Front, whose only goal is the policy of destruction towards institutions in order to present Montenegro as a dysfunctional state whose sovereignty should, accordingly, be left to regional hegemons - the DPS concluded.
