The ruling majority interrupted the session of the Council of Pljevlja; Would Lekić replace Vraneš?

SOURCE: M PORTAL / AUTHOR: M.J. GDNUS

The session of the Municipal Assembly of Pljevlja did not continue today after a break, because the councilors of the ruling coalition did not return to the assembly hall.

As reported by the M portal, one of the councilors of the New Serbian Democracy requested a break after the first item on the agenda, which included a discussion and councilor questions about the Proposal for the final budget of the Municipality of Pljevlja for 2023. The members of the majority claim that there are "hot topics" on the agenda, and that the ruling parties have not agreed on them.

According to the information available to the M portal, the decision not to return the majority councilors to the session was due to the passing of two currents in the ruling NSD, one of the President of the Municipality, Dario Vraneš, and the other of the former director of the Coal Mine, Mijo Lekić. Unofficial sources from the Pljeval government, whose backbone consists of NSD, Democrats, PES and SNP, claim that this is an attempt to remove Vraneš from the head of the municipality and that the majority of councilors side with Lekić.

DPS claims the same. Namely, DPS councilor Marko Tošić said that "to say the least, what happened today at the session of the Municipal Assembly of Pljevlja is frivolous".

"You convened the collegium and informed us that the session of the Council of Ministers will be held on October 6. After that, two days later, you convened a new collegium and informed us that it would be held today. Members of the DPS and the entire opposition came to this assembly, and today we have a situation where we do not have a quorum. It is frivolous to say the least. Why didn't you or one of the councilors of the ruling majority clearly state the reason for not holding today's session. According to Pljevlja, it has been rumored for a long time that the reason for not holding today's session is the overcomposition of forces within the municipal committee of the New Serbian Democracy and part of the parliamentary majority. I don't see why it is disputed that one of you gave up and told the citizens. It is obvious that the intention is for the man who destroyed the Coal Mine or someone at his behest to come here and depose the current President of the Municipality and for him to dominate the local finances, because it is obvious that the main prey for that man is the budget of the Municipality of Pljevlja of 30 million euros. Today, there is more money in the municipality's account than there is in the accounts of the Coal Mine and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, and this is the prey that the parliamentary majority, namely Mr. (Milan) Lekić, is chasing with the intention of robbing those funds that are in the account of the Municipality of Pljevlja, in the same way on which they destroyed the Coal Mine. The most honest thing would be if you stood up today and told us the real reason for not holding today's session," said Tošić, reports Vijesti.
