To avoid being introduced into the Montenegrin government Anti-Western Party

The Deputy Assistant US Secretary of Gabriel Eskobar is, commenting on the formation of the new government, said the commitment to the European path, NATO membership and the fight against corruption does not meet each party in the Montenegrin political spectrum.

However, I believe that President Jakov Milatović and Mandatar Milojko Spajić share these goals and the challenge for compiling the Government from the parties they believe will fulfill them. There are some narratives that we repeat very much. One is that exclusion of the largest anti-Western party would be contrary to the will of the people. That is not true. The will of the people are elected by individual parties, and it is on the mandate to determine how to compile the government. The second is to exclude the voices of ethnic Serbs. I would say that in one of the parties with whom the mandate of Spajic wants to form governments there is no anti-Serbian mood. In fact, a fair number has a significant part of the voters who are ethnic Serbs. And finally, there is at least one party saying that he is ready to accept any foreign policy decision of the Government, if Belgrade lets them. It is essentially undemocratic and unacceptable - the idea that one part of the coalition would control the foreign government and that the part of the country's foreign leaders would be more, and not the Prime Ministers, "Escobor for the Voice of America pointed out.

When asked how to react now if the coalition "for the future of Montenegro" was part of the Government, Eskobar says that the Anti-Western Party should be introduced to the Montenegrin government.

I understand that there is a lot of pressure that comes on one side. However, there were many recommendations, I would not say the request, but a recommendation from the United States, the European Union and even NATO that Montenegro should avoid introducing anti-NATO, an anti-Western political party that is also against the European Union. If Montenegro does so, then it chooses to accept the pressure of another country in relation to the recommendations of the transatlantic community. I don't think it takes now to think about what happened after. Montenegro is very strong and good NATO members and allys and we expect to continue it still - said Eskobar.

He believes that there is pressure within the parties, on all sides, how it should form a government.

Our encouragement is very open and public. And our expectations are very clear to the citizens of Montenegro. I'm not sure that some people, who puts pressure to make another party in the government, so transparent and open about why they want to go to the government - concluded Eskobar.
