Trade Union of RTCG: We believe that we will celebrate all future anniversaries in different circumstances, which our institution deserves

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS
Trade Union of the Public Broadcasting Service of Radio and Television of Montenegro, announces that RTCG is celebrating its jubilee these days, more precisely on November 27th. 80 years of radio and 60 years of television.
"Our trade union organization takes this opportunity to congratulate our colleagues on this holiday and wish the house where we work many more jubilee birthdays. And birthdays would not be real if we did not make at least a small review of what is happening in our house. The management has its mouth full about the Public Service of all citizens, about respecting the law, rules and principles, cultivating tolerance, professionalism...
At the same time, in practice we have everything but a Public Service of all citizens. Instead of respecting the law and procedures, we have disrespect for judicial decisions and the making of legally problematic decisions. Instead of professionalism, we have violations of journalistic ethics and codes. Instead of respecting human rights, we have persecution of employees on national, religious and political grounds.
We have become a collective in which management does not respect workers' rights and procedures, workers are declared extremists and classified as "yours" and "ours", their pictures are shared on social networks, and they are threatened with dismissals," they stated in the statement.
As a birthday greeting, they tell their colleagues, "that the trade union organization, regardless of the fact that its representativeness has ceased to exist under strange circumstances, will protect the rights of all workers from irresponsibility and arrogance, by court decisions of the illegal, general director, regardless of whether they are our members or not".
"We also call on the competent state institutions, primarily the Prosecutor's Office, to check whether the posts of the illegal general director contain elements of hate speech and discrimination based on national and political affiliation. The Constitution and legal acts of our country prohibit this, so we hope that the prosecutor's office will finally start doing its job.
And finally, we will also look back at the Ceremonial Academy, at which none of our former professional colleagues, by whom RTCG was recognizable, were among the guests. We believe that we will celebrate all future anniversaries in different circumstances, which our institution deserves. It is up to us to create those circumstances", concludes the statement of the RTCG Trade Union Organization.
