Uljarević: Abazović is consciously undermining Milatović's position and collapsing the international reputation of Montenegro

In these 16 months of Dritan Abazović's government, of which 13 were in the technical mandate, we had many examples in which Abazović demonstrated his disrespect for laws, procedures, institutions, good practices, international partners, as well as political allies, with the accompanying most mundane labeling of all critics and political opponents, says the director of the Center for Civic Education Daliborka Uljarević, after it was announced that the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović and Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, as well as numerous delegations, are going to the session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
It will be difficult to abstract, with the passage of time, the most characteristic and crudest illustrative expressions of that self-government and independence. However, I believe that these examples will surely include the way in which, in the last days of his reign, he caused damage to the reputation of the state of Montenegro through attempts to create parallel official delegations for the session of the UN General Assembly. Because, with this move of his, the international reputation of Montenegro is further collapsing, which is already low and to which he significantly contributed with his irresponsible attitude towards key international partners - says Uljarević for Antena M.
Abazović adds that this is not only stepping on the previously established practice between the cabinet of the president and the prime minister, who annually rotate in leading state delegations for this meeting.
Namely, he consciously and directly wants to undermine the position of President Jakov Milatović, who, unlike him, has a full mandate and with legitimacy that Abazović does not have now nor will he ever have with this political approach. This confirms his own image as the most unreliable political ally to actors in Montenegro, because he is ready to sacrifice any good relationship or political alliance for the sake of personal and particular interests. All of this further disgusts citizens and the political scene and trust in parties and decision-makers, and part of the evidence for this we got through the record low turnout in the parliamentary elections on June 11 - concluded Uljarević.
