Varheli came with a clear message: We are all ready to close the temporary benchmarks

The Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varheli said that he came to Montenegro with a clear message, stating that everyone was ready to close the interim benchmarks.

Varetheli announced it on the network X, on the eve of the meeting at 1 pm with the Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Internal Policy, European and Foreign Affairs to Aleks Bečić in Villa Gorica and the President of the Assembly Andrija Mandić at 2 p.m.

Montenegro is the most advanced candidate country in the accession negotiations - stated Varcheli in publication online X.

Their goal is, as he said, that Montenegro crossed the next level.

We are all ready to close the temporary benchmarks. We are dedicated to go ahead - he told Varcheli.

During the last intergovernmental conference with Montenegro, Varcheli said that he hoped to fulfill the new momentum from Podgorica to fulfill many preconditions to indicate Montenegro to indicate the negotiation process.

He emphasized that the temporary benchmarks, which require additional reforms, is especially in the field of rule of law, including the freedom of the media and the media regulator for achieving this goal.

On that occasion, he said that the growth plan for the Western Balkans are an instrument that creates new opportunities, but also a mechanism for accelerating integration and before accession. This primarily refers to gradual integration into the single market, as well as the provision of necessary financial resources to accelerate the reform agenda.
