Vukčević: I will act on the instructions of the SEC in order for the Commission to express its opinion on three untimely objections

With today's opinions and instructions, the State Election Commission confirmed my position that the final results of the local elections cannot be determined until the Constitutional Court decides on the submitted appeals, said Veselin Vukčević, President of the Election Commission of the Capital City.
"I hope that individual members of the Commission will recognize that such a clear position and behavior is in their interest, but also in the interest of the political entities they represent, even though in the past few days they did not choose means to induce me to commit a criminal act," says Vukčević.
When they failed to do so, he adds, a media frenzy ensued.
"And the pressure on me and my family in order to achieve their illegal intentions. They wrongly estimated that I was the only obstacle to the achievement of their illegal intentions. However, it is important that there was a confirmation that everything was done in accordance with the law, and their dishonorable behavior will to have an epilogue with the competent authorities when all this is over," he said.
Respecting the position of the SEC, he says, he will proceed according to the Instructions in order for the Commission to express its opinion on three untimely objections, which were submitted on November 4.
"Even though it is clear that by submitting these objections, nine days after the expiration of the preclusion period prescribed by law, an obvious abuse of procedural rights was carried out, at the behest of political subjects who have become a habit of disobeying the Constitution and the law," concluded Vukčević.
