Last night, those who have Montenegro and Croatia in their hearts gathered in the packed Kina Boka in Kotor. The list "HGI on the ramparts of Mediterranean Montenegro" held a central convention from which it was ordered that Croats return to where they belong, in the Kotor Assembly, and that they will continue to preserve their history, their language, their traditions and their culture. it was announced from HGI.
At the very beginning, Ljiljana Velić, president of OO Kotor and member of the HGI Presidency, addressed the audience.
"Ahead of us are extremely important local elections in Kotor, where the government is elected for a four-year period. I am sure that the people of Kotor will recognize who offers what. The Croatian citizens' initiative has a consistent political direction and with us you know what to expect."
"A message of love, peace and coexistence, but also a determined fight for the preservation of the Croatian name, language, customs, tradition and culture, was written on the ramparts of Mediterranean Montenegro. Sailors, lords, painters, sculptors, priests all wove a part of their Croatian soul into this most beautiful part of the Adriatic, in the Bay of Kotorska, leaving an indelible mark on Croatian heritage." - said writer and publicist Božidar Proročić, saying in the end that Croatia and Montenegro are eternal!
Petra Petrović, a member of the HGI Youth Forum, invited all young people to return to their Kotor and that on Sunday the voice of the young must be clear, to circle the number 5, because young people stand on the ramparts of Mediterranean Montenegro.
"The Croats of Kotor have been the builders of this city and the guardians of its culture for centuries." - says Irena Grandis, member of the HGI Central Board.
"These elections are a moment to show the strength and unity of the Croatian community. We believe that our contribution to Kotor is not just a thing of the past. In these elections, let's vote so that our voice is present where decisions are made. It's time for the voice of the Croatian community to be heard again in the Kotor Parliament!" - adds Irena Grandis.
Antonija Bijelić, a student, emphasized the importance of the upcoming local elections in Kotor, stressing that HGI is the only party with a Croatian sign in Kotor and that the result of the match depends on all of them, their families and friends. According to Antonija, HGI will strive to solve the problems of young people, but also of all Kotor residents. From preserving the Croatian identity to advocating for Kotor to be an authentic tourist destination. He invites everyone to show maturity and togetherness, he invites all young people to circle the number 5 on Sunday!
"We have a solution on how to cross, how to reach our goal. And that, believe me, is together, only together and together again! - said Mirko Vičević, president of HGD, admiral of the Bokel Navy and member of the Hall of Fame. The Croatian voice will be back where it belongs, says Vičević and calls on all families to invite all their members and to support the Croatian citizens' initiative in order to reach their goal.
Dijana Milošević, the holder of the list, at the very beginning of her speech reminded that Montenegro is their country, that Kotor is their home, but that today Kotor is wounded, tortured and transformed.
"Kotor has turned into a money-making machine. Kotor has to do better, and Kotor can do better only if its citizens raise their heads and bring it "better". Only with outstretched hands in unity can we continue to build our fortresses into a strong basis for the survival of this city and its citizens. Tradition is the strength of a nation and the condition for its survival. When the culture of the people falls into oblivion, then the people also disappear. We must not allow this to happen to our city." - says Dijana Milošević.
The holder of the list invites the citizens to re-fortify the century-old stone and to survive on their hearths that were created by their ancestors, to circle the number 5 on Sunday and show that the Croatian people are a big FIVE.
At the very end of the central convention, the president of the party, Mr. Adrijan Vuksanović, addressed the audience, who thanked all those present and said that HGI is close to the goal of returning to where it belongs, and reminded that they have been out of the Kotor Assembly for four years.
"It will never happen again that the Croatian voice is not heard in the Kotor Parliament, because while the bells of St. Tripun's Cathedral are ringing, until then we will be here and our voice will be heard in the Kotor Parliament, a voice that is for the good of Croats and all well-meaning citizens and Kotor and Montenegro."
Adding that he is proud that such a small community shows such vitality and that he has confidence in HGI and the policy they implement because it is for the common good.
"HGI on the ramparts of Mediterranean Montenegro. There is no rampart without stone, and our stone is the stone of the Cathedral of St. Tripun, our stone is the stone of Our Lady of Škrpjela, our stone is the stone of the walls of the old city, our stone has been here since the seventh century. And there is no rampart without people, and the Croatian citizens' initiative is an expression of the longing of countless generations who made sacrifices for the Croatian name. Even today we speak loudly what others had to keep silent and for which they suffered. But not every stone makes a wall, only a stable and solid stone can be a part rampart. We have shown that we have both strength and constancy."
He concludes that there is nothing that can be offered to them to accept, and that they will trample on the fundamental values of the Croatian people and the state of Montenegro.
"Our policy is inclusive. It is wide. We act from our Croatian perspective, but we have shown that the policy we represent is the best for the country we live in, and that's why we put it together in one thought that we will advocate for the preservation of the national name and the strengthening of the state subjectivity of Montenegro."
He emphasized that on Sunday the election is easy, number 5 for the Croatian Citizens' Initiative, that the Croats in Kotor have their own representative, that the Croatian voice is heard, the voice for Kotor and for Montenegro.
HGI on the bulwark of Mediterranean Montenegro, they conclude in the announcement.
