We are considering several models, including independent performance

The Social Democrats (SD), in addition to going independent, are also considering other models of performance in the parliamentary elections, said the party's vice-president Danilo Orlandić, adding that the opposition parties must offer citizens an innovative political offer, new people and concrete proposals to improve the standard of living.
Orlandić told the MINA agency that he expects that in a relatively short period of time the Presidency and the Main Committee of the SD will make a decision on their participation in the elections.
As he stated, SD has been in the electoral regime since April 3, the day after the second round of presidential elections.
"That working regime, of course, implies preparations of the party for an independent performance in the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections, which will be held on June 11," Orlandić said.
For this kind of performance, as he stated, SD is ready.
"Except for that model, other models of performance are being considered, that is, several types of coalition arrangements, and it is being analyzed whether such a performance could possibly work synergistically or not," said Orlandić.
When asked if he thinks that the joint performance of the opposition is a good solution and if it is acceptable to the SD, he said that it is one of the possibilities that are currently being considered and that, like any other type of performance, this form also has its positive aspects. and negative sides.
"As I have already said, depending on the basis on which the agreement is conceived, as well as what the polls tell us about the existence of synergy in the case of such a performance, the party authorities will decide on it in a timely manner," Orlandić added.
When asked how certain a joint performance is and whether it is more likely that coalitions will be formed after the elections, he replied that at this moment it would be neither realistic nor responsible to evaluate the certainty of the model of performance in the upcoming elections.
"As already said, there are several options that are being considered, among which is an independent performance by SD, but also some other types of performance. Each of these options is, at a given moment, equally probable and possible", said Orlandić.
About post-election coalitions
As far as the post-election coalitions are concerned, the position of the SD on this matter is identical to the day they were founded.
"We can form a post-election coalition only on the basis of the program and with those political entities that are clearly committed to the civil, European, Euro-Atlantic, multi-religious and multinational concept of Montenegro", stated Orlandić.
Asked what result SD, as well as the entire opposition, expects in the elections on June 11, he said that the presidential elections showed that the opposition has an enviable reservoir of over 155,000 votes.
"In SD, we believe that this number, when it comes to parties, is even higher," said Orlandić.
As he stated, since the day after the second round of presidential elections, through constant communication with the party base, but also with citizens who do not belong to their party, they have been working on increasing that number.
"We believe that the opposition parties can achieve a better result than our candidate's results in the presidential elections, and we certainly believe that the SD can win the same number of mandates in the Assembly that we have in the current convocation," Orlandić said.
When asked how important the June 11 elections are for Montenegro, first of all, for its further path towards the EU, he answered that every election has great significance for the country, and parliamentary elections, by the nature of things, have the greatest importance.
"As we could see in the past two and a half years, despite the declarative support for the European integration of Montenegro, the parties of the current government and the parliamentary majority essentially did everything to distance the country from the family of European nations," Orlandić assessed.
He said that this is why he believes that the upcoming parliamentary elections will be a kind of referendum for or against EU membership, where the "for" option will be represented by the opposition parties, "while it is quite clear which political subjects essentially represent the option "against" membership in the Union." .
"The biggest unknown will be represented by the newly founded Movement Europe Now, from which we hear diametrically opposite statements almost every day regarding some of the key state issues," said Orlandić.
According to him, Montenegrin citizens must be aware that supporting such a wandering policy cannot be in favor of Montenegro and its European path.
The main focus of the pre-election campaign should be on economic and social issues
Orlandić said that the main focus of the pre-election campaign of the opposition parties, regardless of the type of performance, should be on economic and social issues.
"Opposition parties must offer citizens an innovative political offer, new, young people and concrete proposals - how we will improve their standard of living," said Orlandić.
As he stated, in a time when inflation is constantly growing and life is getting more and more expensive, the most important thing for every voter is how he and his family will live in the next four years.
"What is also of great importance is that we do not allow ourselves to slip into populism and offer unrealistic promises to citizens", said Orlandić.
He said that the program offer of the opposition parties must be very well argued and realistically achievable because, as he added, he firmly believes that an honest attitude towards those from whom they seek support is the most valuable capital in politics.
In the end, as Orlandić said, this approach to politics has been the SD's approach until now.
"We have just focused on the mentioned topics in our activities, so that in the parliament, precisely at the proposal of our group of deputies, proposals were adopted which reduced excise taxes on fuel, increased compensation for interns from EUR 250 to EUR 450, student loans and scholarships, the amount the lowest pensions, as well as limited prices of basic foodstuffs", stated Orlandić.
He said that in this way the members of the SD showed that they do not approach politics in a political way, but that they create proposals and solutions on a realistic basis, the goal of which is to improve the standard of living of citizens.
Asked how he would comment on the announcements related to the possibility of the Assembly canceling the decree of President Milo Đukanović, shortening its own mandate and then the newly elected President Jakov Milatović calling for elections again, he said that this is classic nonsense coming from the ranks of the current parliamentary majority.
According to Orlandić, the impossibility of the political entities that record less than three percent of support - the URA and the Socialist People's Party - to come to terms with the fact that in a relatively short time they will no longer control not the majority in the Government, but even the smallest part of it, leads to nebulous attempts to the decision of Đukanović, which is fully in accordance with the Constitution, is contested in an illegal and unconstitutional manner.
"First, on the scene, we had an attempt to force Milatović to "cancel" the act of Đukanović published in the Official Gazette," said Orlandić.
As he said, after they received a very clear answer to the nebulous request from the Europe Movement, they have now moved on to an attempt to usurp the Assembly.
"As far as the SD is concerned, this is just another desperate attempt by Prime Minister (Dritan) Abazović and Deputy Prime Minister (Vladimir) Joković to hold onto positions that do not belong to them in any way and that they hold completely illegitimately" , stated Orlandić.
As he said, the parliamentary elections are scheduled for June 11, and the only nullity can be the decisions of the dissolved Assembly, which "beyond common sense" the parliamentary majority makes at this moment.
