The President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the great holiday of Eid al-Fitr, to the head of the Islamic Community in Montenegro, Mr. Rifat Fejzić, and to all believers of the Islamic faith, wishing them to spend the holidays in good health, happiness and well-being.
We are rightfully proud of the fact that Montenegro is a country of many beliefs and convictions, and our society is an open and diverse democracy enriched with the civilizational values of Islam. A religion that inspires us to lead lives based on justice, compassion and personal responsibility - said Đukanović in his congratulatory message.
He adds that he sincerely believes that today we live in a time in which, more than ever, it is necessary to recognize ourselves in everything that unites us.
Our further path is irrevocably the path of understanding, coexistence and harmony. May the holy days of Eid al-Fitr be a source of lasting inspiration for the affirmation of the values we share and the strengthening of the friendship that binds us, with the awareness of the common challenge and obligation to make the world an even better place for ourselves and our children, Đukanović pointed out.
Let's do it, he says, with all the strength and self-confidence with which we have jointly achieved the greatest successes of modern Montenegro, restoring its independence, based on a determined and clear will to build and not tear down, to increase and not decrease, to strengthen and not we are weakening‚ with a clear vision of a modern European and prosperous Montenegro.
In the light of these thoughts, I once again send congratulations to you and all believers of the Islamic religion in Montenegro on the occasion of this special holiday with the wish that you celebrate it together with families, friends, neighbors and people of good will, he concluded.
