President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović said today that he will refer to all parliamentary parties "a common platform for Montenegro in the EU." At today's press conference, he said that the topic of integration was put into another plan due to daily political topics and the new wave political polarization in Montenegro.
Expressing a clear commitment as needed by the further development of Civic, Democratic and Economically Developed Montenegro, including human dignity, freedom, human rights, democracy, equality and rule of political engagement, supporting decisions and actions to accelerated Montenegro's memberships in the European Union (EU), without further disposal, express commitment to the common principles of future institutional and political action - stands in the platform proposed by the President of the State.
The platform is envisaged by the harmonization of legislative activities with the Constitution of Montenegro and the acquis communautaire, with the consultation and participation of the public, ie interested entities, in the decision-making process.
It is also envisaged by the immediate initiation of parliamentary dialogue in order to elect holders of the highest judicial and prosecutorial functions.
Commitment to the comprehensive reform of electoral legislation, in order to strengthen the integrity of the election process and confidence in the elections.
He stated that the platform is also provided with the commitment to sustainable economic development by the implementation of structural reforms, improving modern transport, digital and health and health infrastructure and attracting credible investments, in order to improve the living standards of citizens.
Building an efficient public administration, through the implementation of the deposition process and promoting meritocracy in human resources management, which decisively works on the process of joining Montenegro EU - added Milatović.
The platform is, as stated, the envisaged and improvement of the environment for the work of the civil sector and the media, which implies freedom of expression and willingness for open, transparent and regular dialogue with civil society organizations.
Commitment to the construction of the society of equal opportunities, which nurtures special sensibility towards improving the position of vulnerable groups and respect for human rights - Milatović pointed out.
He stated that the platform envisages and empowering the constitutional concept of the ecological state of Montenegro, the implementation of the EU Green Agenda, the protection of nature and the environment.
Creating a better quality environment for young people, through comprehensive reform of the education system, the involvement of Montenegrin universities in EU networks and programs, better association of work market programs - stands in the content of the platform.
It is added that it is planned and empowering the capacity of institutions for attracting funds from EU funds and their further implementation.
Complete compliance with the EU external and security policy, as well as participation in EU initiatives relating to the promotion of peace and safety globally - the platform.
Predicted and strengthening the positive and constructive role of Montenegro in the region, including regional economic integration through the common regional market (Berlin process) and other inclusive regional cooperation initiatives in line with EU standards.
The signatories of the platform, in this way, promote political stability, consensus around common values and willingness to joint action - in order to accelerate the European path of Montenegro - stands in the platform.
