Zirojević puts into procedure the resolution on the condemnation of crimes in Palestine: 7,000 citizens signed

AUTHOR: M.J.
The MP of the Social Democrats of Montenegro (SD) Nikola Zirojević signed today the resolution on the condemnation of Israel's crimes in Palestine, which was previously proposed by the Movement of Solidarity with Palestine through the Institute of Epitiology, thus fulfilling a public promise to this movement. He will submit the petition to the procedure on the first working day, Monday, for purely technical reasons (because the Parliament's office does not work on weekends).
In just 48 hours, this resolution received over 7,000 signatures from our citizens, but even that was not enough for the competent parliamentary committees to consider it, instead, for some reason, they gave a rather strange explanation that the resolution, regardless of what has gone through the petition institute and received the required number of signatures, it must have a signatory. This completely rendered the institution of petitions meaningless and citizens were demotivated to use this institution in any other case, which allowed them to propose legal solutions, or, in this case, an initiative or resolution that they thought would be useful. to be considered in the Parliament - said Zirojević.
Zirojević said that he believes that, as a representative of the citizens in the Parliament, he is obliged to put the said Resolution into the procedure and with his signature enable it to be discussed at the relevant parliamentary committees and, finally, at the plenum, especially considering the over 7,000 signatures of female citizens and of citizens whom she has earned.
He expressed his gratitude to, as he stated, the only group of deputies that has openly announced their support for the said Resolution - the group of deputies of the Democratic People's Party, expressing the expectation that, all together in the Parliament, they will discuss a topic that is least political and more concerning basic human rights, to discuss and that in the end a strong message will be sent from the Parliament of Montenegro that Montenegro does not support the horrific scenes that we can see from Gaza every day.
The content of the Resolution strongly condemns the indiscriminate bombing of civilians in the Gaza Strip, during which more than 32,000 Palestinians were killed, of which over 23,000 were women and children, and appeals to the authorities of Israel to immediately stop military actions and end the act of aggression that destroys numerous civilian, medical , religious and other objects and threaten the lives of over two million people living in the territory of Gaza, the United Nations, the OSCE and other relevant international organizations, other countries, and especially EU and NATO members, are called upon to use all possible diplomatic, political and economic means in order to to deter Israel from continuing its aggressive actions against the Palestinian people, the Government of Montenegro and all political and social entities in Montenegro are called upon to condemn this act of aggression, the consequences of which may be incalculable for world peace and security, and the deepest sympathy is expressed for the people of Palestine who is currently facing the greatest challenges and sufferings since the beginning of Israel's military aggression.
The explanation of the Resolution also condemns the attack by Hamas in which around 1,200 Israelis were killed, after which, as stated, there was an indiscriminate bombing of civilians in the Gaza Strip. It is stated that over 80 percent of schools in Gaza were damaged or completely destroyed, that 32 out of a total of 36 hospitals in Gaza were bombed, including ambulances and ambulances, that around 100,000 residential buildings were destroyed or unlivable out of a total estimated approx. 220,000, and that 293 religious buildings (mosques and churches) were destroyed or damaged, as well as almost 200 buildings of historical importance.
It is also stated that the Gaza Strip is facing a shortage of food, drinking water, energy, electricity and other foodstuffs, which is actively leading to the death of the civilian population. In the explanation of the Resolution, it was also stated that Israel's actions were condemned by numerous EU member states, including the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Joseph Borelj, and that American President Joseph Biden also expressed his disagreement with Israel's military activities in the Gaza Strip.
