Zirojević: Serious alarm that the results of the census may be irregular, about everything on the Board after the findings of the AZLP

AUTHOR: M.J./POBJEDA
Information about the submission of census material from the Census Commission of Podgorica and how it threatens to cast a shadow on that statistical process, which was carried out in a correct and high-quality manner, and the suspicion that the results will not be regular, said Social Democrat (SD) MP Nikola Zirojević to the Pobjeda portal.

Zirojević said that he will raise this issue at the Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the Agreement on the Conditions for Holding the Population Census, of which he is a member.

DOUBT ABOUT REGULARITY
Pobjeda announced today that the data collected during the population census in Montenegro were taken from the building of the Capital City, which is why there is a suspicion of possible misuse of citizens' data.
Because of this scandal, the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data and Free Access to Information initiated a surveillance procedure with the Capital City of Podgorica and the Directorate for Statistics (Monstat).

Zirojević says that what they feared in the opposition is happening - that the data will not be stored adequately and that certain people who belong to the current ruling majority will have access to it.

He states that it is too early to draw conclusions and that he will wait for more information in order to deal with this incident within the competent parliamentary committee.

- That they will be able to take them out, copy and download them and that they will eventually be able to deal with certain amendments to census sheets. This is a serious alarm for all of us who have followed the census process. Certainly, after we receive more information about this case and the findings of the investigation of the Personal Data Protection Agency, we will initiate a Board session where we will deal with this topic and institutionally ask those who deal with this work to give us more information. If things like this are happening and if they are happening, then these events and how they cast doubt that potentially the results of the population census will not be realistic and regular and that they will not be able to be recognized - warned Zirojević.

NOTIFIED INJAC
According to information from Pobjeda, Podgorica mayor Olivera Injac was informed by letter about the presentation of census data from the capital, and several meetings were organized with representatives of Monstat in order to resolve the crisis situation.

The supervision of the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society of the Capital City and the Directorate for Statistics was initiated on April 8 by Muhamed Đokaj, a member of the Council of the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data and Free Access to Information.
