Đukanović-Popa: Stable political conditions and functional institutions are a condition for further reforms

It is necessary to establish stable conditions of political and functional institutions as a necessary condition for further reforms, progress in the rule of law, without which there will be no progress in the integration process and Montenegro's reliable path to the European future, it was said at the meeting of the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, and the Head of Delegations EU in Montenegro, Ambassador Oana Kristina Pope.
Đukanović exchanged information with Pop about mutual cooperation, opportunities in Montenegro and the region.
In addition to thanking the ambassador for the initiative for the meeting, he also thanked for the exceptional cooperation in the previous period and the great contribution to finding a solution to the most difficult and demanding problems in the country, which threatened institutional paralysis - Đukanović's office announced.
He highly rated Ambassador Pope's commitment to solving internal challenges through support for good communication with Brussels, proper perception, and conversation with all parties, which was especially challenging in a complex political environment and is worthy of respect.
Đukanović reminded that in that period the highest officials of the EU, Charles Michel, Ursula von der Leyen and Jozep Borelj, visited Montenegro, which showed Europe's readiness for partnership with Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia, regardless of the difficult trials.
In addition to her personal message, the head of the EU Delegation conveyed a message of gratitude to the officials in Brussels for their cooperation with President Đukanović during the past years.
While agreeing on the important indicator of high-level visits to Montenegro, she pointed out the equally significant participation of President Đukanović in numerous meetings and forums in the format of leaders of the Western Balkans that took place in the organization of the EU, which is extremely appreciated in Brussels and during which a good job done together - it was stated in the announcement.
Đukanović and Popa, in the context of Montenegro's integration into the EU and expectations, once again pointed to the necessity of establishing stable political conditions and functional institutions as a necessary condition for further reforms, progress in the rule of law, without which there will be no progress in the integration process and Montenegro's reliable path towards the European of the future.
