Former President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović said that the crime that occurred in Cetinje is an event that, unfortunately, once again confirms that Montenegrin society is in a state of deep crisis and the security of every citizen, every child is at risk.
In a post on his account on the X network, Đukanović also claims that "while the leaders of the Ministry of Interior and the Police kept silent, the killer practically continued his bloody feast behind their backs".
He also stated that he, among others, "learned about what happened and what was happening in Cetinje" from regional media.
"I sincerely sympathize with the families of the victims of the senseless crime that occurred last night in Cetinje, and I send them my deepest condolences. I share the pain with the citizens of the Royal Capital and all people of good will in Montenegro. A huge tragedy, after the still unhealed wounds from the one that occurred less than two and a half years ago, also in Cetinje. Too much for much larger cities and countries, let alone for Cetinje and Montenegro. An event that, in a terrifying way, unfortunately, once again confirms that Montenegrin society is in a state of deep crisis and the security of every citizen, every child, is at risk. While the leaders of the Ministry of Interior and the Police Department held silent press conferences, the killer practically continued his bloody feast behind their backs, and we learned from regional media what had happened and what was happening in Cetinje," said Đukanović.
He added that "helpless, they were unable to count the dead for hours, while they announced that the Army was also rising up against one crazed murderer. Responsibility is multiple, and must be determined and personalized as soon as possible." "It cannot and must not be covered up by any hasty measures by the Government and empty laments that we had the opportunity to hear already in the first appearances of those most responsible," concluded Đukanović.
