Israel warned France about potential terrorist attacks

AUTHOR: M.J.
Israel warned France today of potential "terrorist attacks" on its athletes and tourists from Iran-backed terrorist groups during the Paris Olympics.
"Some people are trying to harm this joyous event," Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz wrote to his French counterpart Stephane Sejourne.
"We currently have assessments of potential threats from Iranian terrorist groups and other terrorist organizations aiming to carry out terrorist attacks against members of the Israeli delegation and Israeli tourists during the Olympic Games," Katz added.
France has established an extensive security system to guarantee safety during the Olympics from July 26 to August 11.
All Israeli athletes participating in the Olympics, which officially begin on Friday, will have 24-hour personal security by elite French police, both inside the Olympic village and when they leave the campus.
International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday rejected Palestine's request to ban Israel from the Olympics because of the war in Gaza.
The Palestinian Olympic Committee has called for a ban on Israeli athletes from the Olympics, saying the bombing in the besieged Gaza Strip is a violation of the Olympic ceasefire.
