The United States has carried out airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, which President Donald Trump claims have suffered "monumental damage". Iran said it still possesses enriched uranium and warned that "the game is not over", threatening attacks on US bases in the Middle East. Trump also questioned the survival of the Iranian regime, while his vice president stressed that the target remains limited to the nuclear program.

Israel confirmed that it had targeted missile bases and military systems in Iran, and reports of civilian casualties are coming from Tehran. The United States has urged its citizens to be vigilant around the world, while France is evacuating its citizens from Israel. Iran is seeking support from Russia, which condemned the bombing, and Russia, China and Pakistan are calling for a ceasefire, although such a resolution in the UN Security Council faces a certain US veto.

Iran responds with missiles to US attacks on nuclear facilities

Iran confirmed that the number of missiles fired in the attack on the Al-Udeid air base in Qatar was equal to the number of bombs dropped by US planes on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend. Tehran said the attack was carried out at a location outside populated areas, in a possible sign of a desire to de-escalate the conflict. Qatar said there were no injuries in the attack.

Detonations in Tehran as Iran hits US base in Qatar

Detonations were heard in northern Tehran on Monday evening, an AFP correspondent said, following the Iranian missile strike on the US base in Qatar. Witnesses saw yellow flashes in the sky, indicating the activation of air defenses.

Qatar intercepts missiles in Iran's attack on US base, condemns violation of sovereignty

The Qatari Defense Ministry said it had intercepted missiles aimed at the US Al-Udeid base, saying there were no casualties or injuries. Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari strongly condemned the Iranian attack as a gross violation of Qatar's sovereignty and international law.

Pezeshkian: We will not leave aggression unanswered

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran did not start a war with the United States nor did it want a conflict, but that it would not leave aggression unanswered.

In a message published today on the X network, Pezeshkian stressed: "We did not start this war, nor did we want it; but we will not leave aggression against Greater Iran unanswered."

He added that Iran will resolutely defend its security: “We will defend the security of this beloved nation with our whole being, and we will respond to every wound inflicted on the body of Iran with faith, reason and determination.”

“People, God is with us,” concluded Pezeshkian.

Iranian TV confirms attack on Al-Udeid base in Qatar

The Iranian television network Irib News announced that the “Besharat al-Feth” operation against the US Al-Udeid base in Qatar had begun.

In another message, Irib News stated that “The Revolutionary Guard of the Islamic Republic of Iran launched this operation under the holy motto, targeting the Al-Udeid base in Qatar with a powerful and devastating missile attack. This base is the command center of the US Air Force and the main strategic support of the US terrorist army in the region of West Asia.”

Explosions heard over Doha

Several explosions were heard over Doha, the capital of Qatar, Reuters reported, shortly after a Western diplomat said there was a credible threat from Iran to the US al-Udeid air base in the Gulf country.

The diplomat's comments came shortly after Qatar said it had temporarily closed its airspace for the safety of residents and visitors. Earlier in the day, the US embassy in Qatar advised American citizens to stay put as a precaution.

Iran has threatened to retaliate against the United States after US bombers dropped 30,000-pound (15-ton) special bombs on underground nuclear facilities in Iran over the weekend, while President Donald Trump has openly announced the possibility of toppling the Iranian government.

This came after Iran threatened to respond to US strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran.

At the same time, the American media outlet Axios reported that Tehran had fired six missiles at US bases in Qatar, citing an Israeli official.

Qatar suspends air traffic as a precaution

The Qatari Foreign Ministry announced in a message posted on the X network that it was temporarily closing its airspace after Iran threatened to respond to US bombings of its nuclear facilities.

"The relevant authorities announce the temporary suspension of traffic in the country's airspace as part of a series of precautionary measures," the Qatari ministry said.

UN: Israeli attack on Iran may have violated international law

UN mission says Israeli strikes on Iran may have violated international humanitarian law

The UN fact-finding mission to Iran said some of Israel's strikes on Iran appeared to have been carried out in violation of international humanitarian law.

Dozens of residents of an apartment building and three Red Cross aid workers were among the dead in Tehran, the report said.

The mission also said it was receiving worrying reports of arbitrary arrests on charges of spying for Israel.

Restrictions on internet access in Iran have created a dangerous situation for millions of residents fleeing the capital Tehran, it said.
